The Economics of Remote Tooling and Dose Reduction
Main Article Content
Abstract
A methodology for the derivation of economic criteria for the implementation of remote tooling and robotics is presented. The economic criteria have three components: a health care based component, Ch; a radiation safety services based component, Cs; and an incremental component, Cv, based on occupational wage differentials, All three components have a direct radiation dose-rate dependence, Overall the economic criteria methodology therefore advocates the intuitive notion that the economic value of an occupational dose is critically dependent on the dose-rate.
