Visual Inspection of the AVR-HTR Core Ceiling

Abstract

The helium-cooled pebble bed HTR of the AVR at the FRG Research Center at Julich is intended to be modified for another research project. To prove the feasibility relevant information on The state of the graphite-made reactor Lop reflector was needed. Task assignment was to develop a visual inspection procedure and equipment to perform a TV inspection. Access to the reactor core was only possible via the fuel supply tubes of 60 mm ID and approx. 30 m length.
