Radwaste Receiving and Handling Facility for Mine Disposal

Abstract

For radwaste disposal into a mine a receiving and handling facility has to be provided on ground level where arriving waste containers from nuclear facilities are handled, conditioned and prepared for ultimate storage. To follow the ALARA principle all handling, transportation, testing and decontamination equipment was designed to be remote controlled.
