Maintenance Quality Assurance

Abstract

This paper deals with recent changes in the maintenance practices at Bruce NGS 'A' brought about by the operations quality assurance program. The program was introduccd in 1983, six years aftcr the first unit went into service. Changes to the original preventive maintenance program include new requirements specified by the Canadian Standards Association N286 series of standards on quality assurance for nuclear power plants. Other changes resulted from quality audits. The observations of maintenance staff on the quality assurance process are included in this paper.
