Analysis of Production Losses During a Major Outage, Pickering GS Units 1/2 Retube

Abstract

Nuclear and Thermal Construction Department Ontario Hydro Ontario Hydro has recently completed the removal and subsequent replacement of fuel channel components in Pickering G.S. Units 1/2. To assist in future studies an assessment was made on the production losses incurred during the Large Scale Fuel Channel Replacement Program (LSFCRP). The purpose of this paper is to describe in general terms what type of losses occurred, how these losses were minimized as the project continued, and what inferences can be made to allow the problem areas to be recognized and managed in future projects.
