The SLAR System -An Overview

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the background of the SLAR project, the organization and execution of the project, and a brief description of the system which has been developed. It is intended as an introduction to the topic and to facilitate understanding of other papers which describe specific technical challenges faced during the project and the designs which were developed to overcome them.
