Abstract

The various factors which have contributed to the success of Canada's Nuclear Energy Program are discussed. They include the extraordinary cooperation between the developer and the utilities and the careful matching of undertakings with the capabilities of Canada. Evidence is provided that Canada has nuclear-electric generating stations with excellent safety, environmental reliability, and economic characteristics developed in Canada. The Canadian capability to supply domestic and foreign markets provides a major overall benefit to the Canadian community.
