Darlington 'A' Real Time Simulation
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Darlington 'A' Real Time Simulation Program (DARTS) is a software package which simulates the dynamics of the major components of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. The simulation runs on a DEC PDP 11/70, Darlington control computers. The DARTS program is used to dynamically test the DCC control programs. In addition to the process the model simulates most of the control logic that exists in the real plant so that it can be used either in a stand alone mode or in the dynamic testing mode where the DCC programs are in control. This paper briefly describes the DARTS model and the dynamic testing environment. Some of the problems encountered during dynamic testing are presented along with typical results obtained with DARTS.
