Abstract

The following paper describes several different areas undergoing various stages of the remediation process at the Chalk River Laboratories site of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). Each of these sites is unique and introduces its own technical challenges. Adding to this complexity, each site presents with a different primary remediation concern that heavily influences the remediation decision making and demands a tailored environmental remediation approach. The unique sites, focus for each project, challenges encountered or expected, and CNL’s innovative approach to responsibly and sustainably address each site are discussed.
