Tomographic Examination of a Section From the HTBS-004 Bundle
Main Article Content
Abstract
Atomic Energy of Canada Limited is designing a tomographic scanner for the post-irradiation examination of nuclear fuel assemblies. To demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed design, proof-of-principle tomographic scans were performed on a section of fuel cut from the HTBS-004 bundle used in the High-Temperature Bundle-Sag (HTBS) tests performed at the Westinghouse Canada test facility. The scans show that useful data can be collected at a spatial resolution of 1 mm FWHM and at a contrast resolution of 1.5% relative to UO2.
