Developing an Indigenous Inclusion Plan for the SMR Program in New Brunswick

Abstract

The advanced reactor development tri-party, comprised of Moltex Energy (Moltex), ARC Clean Technology (ARC), and NB Power, have been working on an Indigenous Inclusion Plan since the early stages of advanced small modular reactor development in New Brunswick. In drafting this plan, we recognized the importance of working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and organizations on its development. Founded on a set of principles and a broad framework for engagement, the plan has now evolved into an Indigenous Inclusion and Reconciliation Action Plan (IIRAP). This paper will focus on the collaborative development and ongoing improvement of the IIRAP.
