Quality Control Aspects of the Production of U02 Powder by the IDR Process

Abstract

Quality Assurance procedures as applied to the IDR process for production of ceramic grade uranium dioxide are reviewed and the benefits both to customer and producer are discussed. The overall combination of an intrinsically reliable process coupled with product evaluation and feed back leads to a product of extremely small variability and precise reproducibility over extremely long periods of operation.
