The Used Fuel Diposal Study: Study Plan and Technical Specificiations

Abstract

The Canadian Nuclear Fuel Waste Management Program is assessing the feasibility and safety of disposing nuclear fuel waste deep within a stable plutonic rock formation. Engineering design descriptions are being produced for the facilities, processes and procedures needed to receive, package, handle and dispose of used fuel. The technical specifications and the schedule for the production of the design descriptions are presented.
