Abstract

The interaction between gaseous 100 ppm hydrogen sulphide in N2 and copper samples will be studied. Both electrodeposited and cold spray samples will be tested. The tests will use both preoxidized and pristine samples and the resulting sulfide film will be characterized with various microscopy techniques to determine the nature of the film. The results are expected to provide additional information to facilitate a more complete understanding of the copper corrosion process related to the deep geological repositories.
