Abstract
The Kinectrics Innovation Hub is focused on the development and application of innovative solutions within the electricity industry. With a focus on revolutionary smart, connected products and services, the Innovation Hub fosters a sustainable company-wide ideation program, building a culture of innovation. This program includes a systematic approach to ideation, incubation, and commercialization. Kinectrics’ world-class scientists and engineers collaborate with academia, incubators, and other institutions to develop and deploy innovative solutions to address the challenges and unique needs of the nuclear industry. Kinectrics’ Innovation Program spans all of its business lines and geographic areas and includes innovations in a wide range of technical areas such as:
- Application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Application of Augmented, Virtual, and Mixed Reality
- Advanced Manufacturing and Materials development including self-healing materials
- Decommissioning and waste management technologies
- Small modular reactor and advanced reactor technologies
- Introduction of novel isotopes
- Fusion technologies
- Novel inspection, testing, delivery/deployment systems, and other engineering process innovations
