Recent Status of the Experiments in the KSTAR Superconducting Tokamak Device
Main Article Content
Abstract
The KSTAR device has missions to explore the scientific and engineering researches under the high performance and steady-state plasma confinement, which are essential for the fusion reactor realization. KSTAR device has been operated in stable for four years since 2008. Major operation results in KSTAR each year are the first plasma in the level of 100 kA in 2008, shape control and H-mode in 2010, and successful edge localized mode (ELM) suppression in 2011. The KSTAR device will be operated for the steady-state confinement achievement and to explore critical issues in preparing the ITER and future fusion reactor.
