Abstract

The analysis of the response characteristics and performance evaluations performed on different digital controllers is the main objective of this paper. The CANDU shutdown systems which are currently implemented with analog instruments in the existing power plants have been implemented on different digital controllers. The constructed testbed enables dynamic testing of the controller implementations and allows for performance analysis based on the collected data. The experimental aspects of this work includes development of the logic structure embedded in the shutdown systems of CANDU based NPPs.
