Leadership in the Control Room

Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of leadership within the control rooms at nuclear power facilities. The leadership capability of control room staff has a significant influence over the improvement of human performance and the development of an “event free” culture within the business. The development of leadership competency in the control room must be an important part of any nuclear power utility business improvement plan.
