Kinetics of Reaction Between Mu and Ni2+ in Superheated Water
Main Article Content
Abstract
Rates of spin exchange of muonium with Ni2+ in sub and supercritical D2O were investigated using muon spin spectroscopy (µSR). The procedure for determining rate constants of muonium reactions is described. Then, results for the reaction of muonium with Ni2+ in D2O are compared to previous data obtained for Ni2+ in H2O. The rate constants are presented as functions of temperature, pressure, viscosity and density to explore possible contributions to the solvent isotope effects.
