Bruce a Steam Generator Replacement

Abstract

Bruce A will be the first CANDU nuclear power plant to replace degraded steam generators. Fabrication is almost complete on the first set of Babcock and Wilcox Canada steam generators. Several changes have been made in SG design in order to improve service life, inspection access and maintainability. Each improvement also presents challenges and several of these will presented. Upon completion, this project will improve SG reliablility, outage durations and unit thermal performance.
