Use of the Reactangular Lattice Code CHEBY for Simulating A Hexagonal Lattice
Main Article Content
Abstract
The 2-group 2/3-D rectangular lattice diffusion code CHEBY was used to simulate the NRU hexagonal core, using two rectangles per hexagon,.and the results compared with those from the 2-D hexagonal lattice code VARIHEX, using the same input parameters. The two simulations are generally in good agreement, except at sites near the core boundary, which is defined differently in the two cases. The effect on the power distribution and eigenvalue of the lattice split for the horizontal through-tubes was also determined using CHEBY.
This work is directed towards the use of the CHEBY-related kinetics code CERBERUS for transient calculations on the Chalk River research reactors NRU and NRX.
