Two-phase Pressure-drops for CANDU Fuel Bundles in Uncrept and Crept Channels
Main Article Content
Abstract
Pressure-drop tests in Freon-134a were performed on aligned and misaligned 3 7-element CANDU (C6) fuel bundles in uncrept and 3% crept channels. The results indicate that the two phase pressure-drop profiles are similar in shape, but higher in magnitude, compared with the single-phase pressure-drop profiles. The two-phase multipliers (TPMs) are a strong function of the thermodynamic quality of the fluid. The measured TPMs of the bundles in the uncrept channel are higher than those in the crept channel. The measured TPMs for the aligned bundles agree well with the Beattie correlation.
