Abstract

Aerosol dynamics have been simulated with the computer code CONTAIN using a modified agglomeration kernel. The time (t) evolution of the size distribution (nk(t)) and the suspended mass concentration of particles of size index k was calculated for both the new kernel and the standard superposition kernel. In addition, the fractal nature of the particle geometry has been accounted for and the implications on the distributions are discussed.
