Progress of ITER R&D in the Japanese Home Team

Abstract

In this paper we report on the progress of ITER R&D in the Japanese Home Team. Inclose collaboration with more than 30 top level industries and many universities, variousR&D tasks assigned to the Japanese Home Team have been conducted. In particular,reactor structures such as superconducting coils and vacuum vessel, in-vessel componentssuch as blanket and divertor, out-vessel components such as heating and current drivesystems, remote maintenance technology, and seismic isolation systems have shownsignificant progress.
