Integral Solution of Equiaxed Solidification with an Interface Kinetics Model for Nuclear Waste Management
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, a one-dimensional analysis of energy and species transport during binary dendritic solidification is presented and compare to experimental results. The paper's objective is a continuation of previous studies of solidification control for the waste management of nuclear materials in the underground disposal concept. In the present analysis, interface kinetics al the solid-liquid interface accounts for recalescent thermal behaviour during solidification. The theoretical results were compared to available, experimental results and the agreement appears fair although some discrepancies have been attributed to uncertainties with thermophysical properties.
