Development of an Explicit Correlation for Vertical Rewetting Velocity
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper describes a special application of a conduction-controlled mechanism model to the problem of vertical rewetting, Through an analytical study of the major parameters suggested by the model, the difficulties in determining the Leidenfrost temperature T and the heat transfer coefficient have been avoided. An explicit semi-empirical correlation for the rewetting velocity u has been developed that fits very closely the available experimental data. The effects of the inlet coolant mass velocity G and subcooling AT sub, which have not been fully understood before, have now been explicitly included in the correlation. This confirms the adequacy of the conduction-controlled mechanism model for vertical rewetting phenomena,
