Abstract

To obtain the characteristics of the heat transport control valves and to examine the interaction between the heat transport system and the feed and bleed system, a test on the liquid relief valves (LRV) failed open event was performed in Unit 1 of Darlington NGS in 1993. Since TUF has been used to support the short term modifications to the process control system at Darlington NGS, the validation of TUF against this test is required. In this paper, the comparisons between the TUF predictions and the plant data are reported. It is concluded that the TUF predictions are in good agreement with station measured data. The code can therefore be used with confidence in support of the modifications for LRV fail open events.
