Study on Residual Stresses of Tube to Tubesheet Joint
Main Article Content
Abstract
Tube to tubesheet joints of shell-and-tube type heat exchanger is the most severely stressed part during assembly. In order to avoid tube degradations such as stress corrosion cracking, reducing residual stresses at the joint is one of important tasks in designing. This paper is concerned with residual stresses at mechanically railed tube tn tubesheet joints. Residual stresses induced by the mechanical rolling process were evaluated computationally and experimentally. Then the advanced tube expanding method which attain lower residual stress is introduced.
