LINAC: An Acoustic Model for the CANDU-PHT System
Main Article Content
Abstract
The computer code LINAC (LINear ACoustic) has been developed to model the acoustic response in a CANDU primary heat transport system. LINAC is a general two-phase model based on mass, momentum, and energy conservation equations, that uses the frequency response technique to determine the overall acoustic behaviour and obtain both the amplitude and phase angle of pressure waves propagated in the circuit. Good agreement is obtained between LINAC predictions ard experimental results from the STERN K12 channel loop. This indicates that the major mechanisms governing the propagation of pressure waves in the circuit are correctly represented in the model
