Abstract

A dynamic test bed was developed by AECL to test the static and dynamic responses of the control computer systems of the MAPLE-XI0 and KMRR reactors before being commissioned at the site. The dynamic test bed allows for the multitasking of redefined task simulating in real-time the reactor processes and systems which interface with the control computer system. The dynamic test bed communicates with the control computer system through a complementary hardware interface as if it was the real reactor facility. This paper describes the model equations implemented in the KMRR test bed, its software and hardware environments and the verification tests which were performed to assure its acceptability as a verification tool used to test the reactor control computer system.
