Organization of Maintenance Program at Cernavada

Abstract

The first part of the paper considers the maintenance related provisions of the agreements concluded by the Romanian Electricity Authority with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited and General Electric-USA, ANSALDO-Italy Consortium for the Cernavoda Nuclear Generating Station. The main actions carried out in keeping with these provisions and with the practice gained within Romanian electric power stations are reviewed as well. The organization chart established for the maintenance department is also shown. The second part of this paper deals with the maintenance related stipulations within the contract concluded by Romanian Electricity Authority with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited and ANSALDO Consortium for the completion and operation of the Cernavoda Nuclear Generating Station's Unit 1. The actions so far performed and the established organization chart are also included in this paper. The third part of the paper presents studies and works under way within the Romanian Electricity Authority's research and design institutes, in order to train and specialize engineer staff capable to properly solve maintenance problems.
