Replacement of Nuclear Steam Generators

Abstract

This paper reviews past and current practices in the replacement of nuclear steam generators. Plants where steam generator replacement has occured are reviewed to see what changes are made in the replacement hardware and how the evolving technology for site changeout activity has significantly reduced outage time and man-rem exposures. Current preferences in equipment design and material are reviewed.
