Pickering NGS-A Reactivity Mechanism Deck Maintenance

Abstract

This paper reviews the extensive reactivity mechanism deck maintenance that has taken place during the current pressure tube replacement outage on Pickering NGS-A Unit 4. This maintenance has included replacement of in-core components such as Neutron Flux Monitors and Adjuster Rods, as well as replacement of obsolete Shutoff Rod drive mechanisms with modern replacements. The problems encountered and the lessons learned during this maintenance work will also be discussed.
