Pickering NGS-A Ion Chamber Additional Support

Abstract

Two cantilever type beams were designed and installed semi-remotely to provide additional support to the Ion Chamber. These beams were required to bear the full weight of the Ion Chamber should the original support structure fail due to corrosion. This is to ensure that the Ion Chamber instrumentation remains active under all operating conditions. The design life of the additional support is to be equal to the remaining plant life.
