Abstract

Over the past 2 years, staff at the 4 unit Bruce A nuclear generating station have been developing and implementing a new and innovative planning process. It's development has evolved from the need to significantly improve the daily coordination of maintenance work being performed on units in the operating state. The new technique has introduced to the station the use of multi- disciplinary planning teams, a 13 week rolling maintenance schedule, and comprehensive work packages, Following the successful pilot implementation on one unit, Bruce A has been proceeding with full implementation across the station. This paper describes the significant aspects of the overall planning process, the status of implementation, and the results which have been achieved to date.
