Comparison of Time-Average Power Distributions in a CANDU-600 Based on PPV, WIMS and DRAGON Lattice Properties
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper will present results of two-group reactor calculations based on fuel tables produced with different lattice codes, including PPV (the reference calculation), WIMS-AECL and DRAGON. These reactor calculations were carried out with the OPTEX-4 code, which uses the TRIVAC diffusion module. Predictions of average exit burnup, time-average maximum bundle and channel powers, CPPF's and device reactivity worths will be compared and observed differences will be discussed. The procedure for calculating the predicted CPPF in OPTEX will be presented. Preliminary results indicate similar power distributions, with DRAGON and WIMS over-estimating the burnup and the peaking factors.
