Two-Fluid Models in Thermal-Hydraulics Transients

Abstract

The need is discussed for models with the capability of modelling individual phases, each with its own velocity and temperature, in two-phase flow. A number of equation sets, discretization techniques and solution strategic s are discussed. The results are shown of some test calculations run with an internationally available program (RELAP-5) and with another program being developed specifically for Ontario Hydro. The development of future work, planned to lead to an improved version of our analysis codes, is delineated.
