CANDU 3 - Ready To Build

Abstract

AECL's CANDU 3 design program has broken new ground in a number of key areas. One of the most important is that for the first ti me in Canada a majority of the detailed design and related work is being completed well in advance of actual project commitment. Design work on the standard CANDU 3 is at its halfway point, but already it has gone a long way beyond what has ever been accomplished on previous new CANDU designs at the pre-project stages. By those standards, the CANDU 3 is more than ready to build.
