Abstract

A New Waste Calcining Facility has been built at the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant to convert radioactive liquid wastes to the solid form. An extensive examination program of the facility's radiation shielding was performed prior to "hot" operation. The various techniques used to complete this program are discussed. The results of the program are also described, as well as recommendations on shield examinations.
