Abstract

WIMS-AECL is derived from an early version of the lattice code WTMS developed by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. It is used to calculate the distribution of neutrons in a lattice cell as a function of neutron energy and position. The development of the code since it was acquired from the United Kingdom is described briefly. Besides the original library of nuclear data a library based on ENDFIB-5 has been produced and its main Features ate noted. Results from the code are compared with experimental data from a zero energy reactor lattice experiment and with the composition of irradiated fuel.
