Interaction of User and Models on System Code Predictions
Main Article Content
Abstract
A code assessment activity has been carried out in the frame of a research program sponsored by European Community. A specific issue of a proper working group was the post-test analysis of LOBI A2-77A natural circulation test by computer codes. Six different users (CENG-Grenoble, CEA-Paris, DCMN-Pisa, GRS-Garching, JRC-Ispra and UKAEA-Winfrith) have independently performed six calculations using five different advanced
thermalhydraulic codes: ATHLET, CATHAREl V1.3, RELAP5-MOD1/EUR, RELAP5-MOD2, TRAC/PF1-MOD1. The present paper deals with the descriptions of the results of the above activity giving emphasis to the user choices in the nodalization development and, as a final goal, on their influence on the predicted results. Few model deficiencies and uncertainties in the experimental data base are also identified.
