Simulation of the Plant Controller of LOVIISA Nuclear Power Plant

Abstract

The Modular Plant Analyser (MPA) is being developed in a joint-project between the Imatran Voima utility company (IVO) and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT). The simulation programs of MFA are based on the APROS (Advanced PROcess Simulator). The present paper describes the essential parts of the simulator. The nodalization diagrams of the primary and secondary circuit as well as the plant and power controller of the Loviisa nuclear power plant are presented. In order to test the ability of the MPA to simulate the behaviour of the plant and power controller the feedwater pump trip has been calculated and the results have been compared to the measurements in the real power plant.
