Abstract

Ontario Hydro uses full scope replica training simulators to train unit first operators and shift supervisors for its nuclear generating stations. Station design undergoes a gradual evolution as modifications are made to enhance safety or performance. If these changes have a significant impact on control room operations than they have to be implemented on the corresponding replica training simulator. This paper describes the implementation of a typical change package, namely a low speed drive capability for the primary head transport pumps for Ontario Hydro's Bruce "B" full scope replica training simulator. Particular attention is paid to model testing.
