Two-Phase Pressure Drop Across Flow Obstructions

Abstract
Two-phase pressure drop data for various flow obstructions have been analyzed. The data were compared with the predictions using both the Homogeneous and Beattie two-phase multipliers. The single-phase obstruction loss factor obtained from the blockage geometry was used in the predictions. The study shows that the Beattie correlation predicted the two-phase pressure drops across flow obstructions with reasonable accuracy, and was better than the homogeneous two-phase multiplier.
