Abstract

A new program of nuclear engineering education was started at the University of New Brunswick in 1984 to serve the needs of the Maritime region. The program is based on the long-standing close relationship between the Faculty of Engineering and local industry. It is a small program, in keeping with the modest needs of the region for nuclear engineers. Nevertheless it includes an undergraduate option and a graduate program as well as training assistance to NB Power, owner-operator of the 600MW station at Point Lepreau.
