Abstract

The SYVAC computer program has been developed to perform generic risk assessments for the Canadian nuclear fuel waste management program. The assessments are performed by evaluating the behaviour of the disposal system as a whole, taking account of variability in the data specifying the state of the system. SYVAC has been applied with simple submodels using the limited data available and the results illustrate the proposed method for demonstrating acceptability of the concept.
