GENHTP - A New Heat Transfer Package for CATHENA

Abstract

An improved heat transfer package, called GENHTP, has been developed and incorporated into CATHENA. This new package offers several new features, including sub-channel modelling capabilities, automatic pressure tube deformation and a solid-solid contact heat transfer model. A new numerical procedure, linking the heat transfer package to the thermalhydraulics, was developed to increase the speed of the code. This paper discusses the new features offered by GENHTP and the new coupling technique.
