Abstract

TRANSDEC is a computer subroutine to calculate the decay power generated as a function of time during a power transient, for instance a power pulse following a loss-of-coolant accident. TRANSDEC uses the prompt power transient as input. The decay power calculated includes both the component arising from steady-state operation before the transient and the extra decay power generated due to the power pulse itself. The calculation of the second component is the new feature of TRANSDEC.
