Abstract

An accurate and efficient computational method has been developed to approximate liquid-vapour thermodynamic properties. This method is based on piecewise approximation by Hermite polynomials, cubic approximation for the saturation state, and biquintic approximation for the single-phase liquid and vapour states. A computer code package has been written to calculate the thermodynamic properties of heavy water using this method.
